Alana Freytes-Rivera,M.Sc.
I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Connecticut within the Geography, Sustainability, Community and Urban Studies Department.
I recently completed a Master's degree in Biology at the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras Campus. My thesis research focused on utilizing plant-pollinator interaction observations, floral traits, and machine learning algorithms to predict floral visitors for plant species in the Guánica Dry Forest.
My main research interests include: entomology, plant-pollinator interactions, insect ecology, invasive species, tropical ecology, population and community ecology. Outside of academia I enjoy hiking, reading, and practicing my macro photography skills.
